Organic Dried Chickpeas in a Glass Jar, 560g
Organic dried chickpeas in a reusable glass jar. A protein- and fibre-rich pantry staple, use them in hummus, add them to a salad or soup, or roast them with olive oil and spices for a tasty snack. Check out the Greenhouse Cookbook for some garbanzo inspo.
Place chickpeas in a large pot and cover with several inches of cold water. (They will triple in size.) Soak at room temperature for 8 hours or overnight, OR bring to a boil, boil for 5 minutes, remove from heat, and leave to soak in hot water, uncovered, for 1 hour.
Drain and rinse chickpeas. Place them back in a large pot and cover with several inches of water. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat and simmer with lid ajar until they reach your desired tenderness, 1 1/2-2 hours. Save cooking water for exciting uses.
Store cooked chickpeas in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days.
